Canvas + Paint – Online Program

May 22, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Garden City Arts from the comfort of your home on Facebook or YouTube for a special session of Canvas+Paint ONLINE! GCA will post a step-by-step video tutorial for the painting featured in the banner above at 7 PM on Friday, May 22nd. This painting is best suited for adults and children over the age of 12.

As with all our GCA’s Online Programs, you can work at your own pace and watch anytime that works with your schedule! All videos for all of our programs can be found in the events tab on Facebook or on our You Tube Channel.

Before you set down to paint, there’s a few things you will need to do and make sure to have on hand:

*Canvas/Surface
– Before you start watching the video, make sure that you have a surface to paint on. It can be anything from a stretched canvas to a piece of card board. YOU WILL need to prep the surface of your canvas by painting it solid black (We use mars black).

*Supplies
– paint brushes: 1 wash brush (large brush with a flat rectangular shape), 1 round brush (has a point), 1 shader brush
– paint: Any paint will work, but we suggest a heavy bodies acrylic paint. You need the following colors: cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, white, yellow, and green.
– foam or paper plate
– water can to clean brushes
– paper towels
– piece of chalk or pencil to draw with

This is a FREE program offered by Garden City Arts; however, donations are very much appreciated to help keep our nonprofit running during these difficult times. Donations can be mailed or made online here: http://gardencityarts.org/join-or-donate
