Lee Richardson Zoo – Restore Our Planet -Earth Day 2021

Join us as we celebrate Earth Day on April 24th!
This year’s theme is “Restore Our Planet”, we’ll have multiple activities available throughout the morning for all ages:
9:15 to 10:00 – River Bed Clean Up
Join us at the southwest corner of the zoo near the bison habitat. We’ll head towards the Arkansas River to clean up litter.
10:30 – Story Time
Meet us on the back patio of the Finnup Center for Conservation Education. Hear a story and receive a take home craft (while supplies last).
10:00 to 12:00 – Discovery Cart
Visit the Butterfly Garden (between the Marie Osterbuhr Aviary and the addax habitat) to check out a Discovery Cart focused on pollinators and the North American Songbird SAFE program (Saving Animals From Extinction).
11:00 – Keeper Chat
Learn more about pollinators and songbirds at the Butterfly Garden from the experts by chatting with a Zoo Keeper!
11:00 – 12:00 – Scavenger Hunt
Have fun on a self lead scavenger hunt, meet an LRZ Educator at the Butterfly Garden!
Earth Day T-Shirt Fundraiser (Orders available now until – April 5th)
