FINNEY COUNTY MUSEUM CLOSED SEPT. 5 TO OBSERVE LABOR DAY

Fulton House 2016 summer tour season concluding after final weekend Sept. 3-4

The Finney County Historical Museum will be closed Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day, but exhibits and offices will be open regular hours before and after that date.

Regular fall hours include 1-5 p.m. seven days weekly for exhibits, accessible through the main entrance near the arches at Lee Richardson Zoo; as well as 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday for offices, via the north entrance.

Exhibit admission is free and the museum is located at 403 S. Fourth Street in Finnup Park. Information is available at 620-272-3664.

In addition, seasonal tour hours will continue one more weekend, Sept. 3-4, at the museum’s historic William Fulton House, which is open 2-4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays all summer. Visitor traffic at the 1884 structure has topped 1,600 guests already this summer, supported by the Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The museum is also distributing orders in the historical society’s annual Labor Day spare rib sale this week. Orders in the annual fund-raising event closed Aug. 24. Those who pre-purchased ribs, tri tip roasts or barbecue sauce may pick up their orders in the museum meeting room, via the north entrance of the building, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1.
