Finney County Preservation Alliance to Host “Picnic Promenade” Inaugural Gala

The Finney County Preservation Alliance will host their inaugural gala “Picnic Promenade” 6 – 10 p.m. Saturday May 21. The location of the event is kept “secret” and will occur in a different outdoor location in a public place every year. Guests meet the event ‘guide’ in front of the Windsor Hotel at 6 p.m. and then travel to the venue location by foot or bus. Dress is in prominently white (black accents and accessories acceptable) from head to toe and encouraged to be simple, elegant or funky – oversized hats and white wigs are welcome. Guests pack an elegant picnic dinner, fine white dishes and white linen tablecloths and napkins for the event (no throw-away products) and also bring a card table and two folding chairs. Tables and chairs may also be reserved at the event site for those who do not wish to bring their own. Dueling pianos will be brought in for entertainment and white wine will be served during the event. Must be 21 to attend. Tickets are $25 per person and available at Inge & Bros. Emporium at 413 N. Inge & Bros Emporium is located on the ground floor of the Windsor Hotel (413 N. Main St.) and is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed over the noon hour) Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Generated funds will be contributed to the Windsor Hotel restoration project.
