“MY IMMIGRATION STORY” COMING UP NOV. 15 IN EVENING AT MUSEUM

Southwest Kansas are welcome at the next Evening at the Museum program, entitled “My Immigration Story.” The presentation is scheduled at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 in the meeting room of the Finney County Historical Museum, with free admission.

The session will allow Southwest Kansans to share their family stories about coming to Finney County, whether they trace their individual histories to other counties, other states or other nations.

The museum is located at 403 S. Fourth in Finnup Park, and those who attend should use the north entrance. The museum will provide beverages and dessert, and listeners are welcome to bring their own dinner, if desired.

The series features programs on history-related topics at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month, September through November and January through April. The hour-long sessions are sponsored by Kansas Chapter 62 of the AT&T Pioneers.

The third year of fall museum gatherings opened Sept. 20 with “The Art of Collecting,” offered by Garden City antique buyer and seller Jody Bennett. That was followed Oct. 18 with “Firearms of the Old West,” presented by Lary Cole, Holcomb.

There will be no session in December, but programs are planned for the third Tuesday of January, February, March and April.
