It’s 2020, and more people than ever have discovered Kansas’s not-so-secret Garden. When we say Garden, we’re not talking about roses and rhubarb, no, we’re talking about Garden City.

Just a few hours’ drive west of Wichita, Garden City is fast becoming THE place to visit. As the tourist traffic increases, so does business, and professionals in a number of industries are also finding reasons to visit.

Whether your stay is based around closing deals or soaking up sun in America’s largest concrete pool, you’re going to want to stay a while, and that means hotels.

Luckily, Garden City has its fair share of places to stay, all catering to different kinds of traveler. So whether you’re looking to kick back with the locals or get things done, there’s a place for you in Garden City.

This article is going to cover some of the best places to stay in Garden City, as well as outline some of the ways each place is different. So give it a read before you pack your suitcase!

Best Western Plus Emerald Inn and Suites

We really can’t say enough about the Best Western Plus Emerald Inn and Suites. The rooms here are beautiful and spacious, with comfy beds and, most important (to people like us), top tier water pressure in the shower. The free amenities are plenty, from the wifi throughout the hotel, to the breakfast, pool, work out facilities. You’re sure to find this hotel to be a fine place to hang your hat, and there’s a reason TripAdvisor ranks it #1.

Regardless of how comfortable a hotel might be, location, location, location, right? Well, luckily for you, the Emerald Inn has you covered there too. Located on the east side of town, close to shopping and amenities, you’re sure to find whatever you need right outside your doorstep.

AmericInn by Wyndham Garden City

Ballin’ on a budget? Look no further than the AmericInn by Wyndham Garden City. This hotel is a skosh more affordable than the Best Western and provides many similar amenities, such as free wifi in the room, a fitness center, a pool, and free breakfast.

Traveling with Tiny? On a vacay with Vixen? The hotel is pet friendly, that’s what we’re trying to say.

The AmericInn is located right next door to an Applebee’s and some of the finest bubble tea in town.

Clarion Inn Garden City

If you’re looking for that little extra, chances are you might find it at the Clarion Inn Garden City.

Chances are, you might be staying there already, as Clarion Inn is a top choice for many traveling on business, with a conference table, dining halls, and large event center.

If not, consider it. The fitness room is beautiful and rustic, the pool begging for you to take a dip.

This place has some of the most beautiful rooms in Garden City, as well as fast wifi, an INCREDIBLE breakfast, a tennis court, and more.

Garden City Inn

Looking for a break in the chains? How about the Garden City Inn?

Initially, this hotel doesn’t feel like a one-off, with 43 rooms, a business center, pool, and wifi in the rooms. The service is excellent and the amenities rival any of the big hotel chains in the area.

But the Garden City Inn takes this a step further. Free bikes? I mean, come on!

On a nice day (which Garden City has plenty of), you’ll find a beautifully bikeable town, with plenty of places withing pedal distance worth checking out. The Big Pool, the Lee Richardson zoo, and most of the other places you’ll want to experience while in Garden City are all less than ten minutes away by bike!

If you don’t have time to bike (this trip) the Garden City Inn still offers plenty of services which will aid you in your quest for productivity, including fax/copy services, and high-speed internet in every room.

Sunnyland B and B

sunnyland bed & breakfast

The Sunnyland B and B is operated out of a 1909 classic Queen Anne. Once you walk through the door, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back a century. The furniture and decorations are all period-specific, and the staff strives to provide a unique, authentic experience.

While the décor might seem dated (by design of course) the service is clearly modern. You’ll find no hotel staff more engaged and involved than Sunnyland’s owners, who operate the B and B and also cook (incredibly well).

This isn’t the kind of place you’re going to find everywhere. There is a reason it is so highly rated, and once you visit, we think you’ll agree.

Wherever You Choose To Stay

Wherever you stay, for whatever reason you visit, we’re sure you’ll find that Garden City is one of the best, most undiscovered locations in Kansas. Chock full of amenities, activities, places to dip your feet and wonderful places to eat, Garden City has something for everybody.

So next time you come, stay a while! Chat with some of the locals and you’ll find a friendly, welcoming city you’ll want to revisit again and again (and again).

And don’t forget, when something’s this good, a secret doesn’t stay a secret for long! Come soon, come often, and enjoy your stay.
